The following diary entry is shared to provide insight into my personal use of cannabis to alleviate a series of medical and health issues, inclusive of insomnia and loss of appetite.
White Labs shouted out their own Ice Bath for my attention and I was really excited to try it out. At first I was a bit disappointed by the volume of cannabis at my disposal—one generous bud—but I am a greedy son of a bitch and always want more. But that one beautiful, sparkling white on green with bits of orange bud turned out to be just right, perhaps even more than what I needed for my sesh. . . but I digress. Ice Bath hits from its packaging with potent fragrances of sweet spiced citrus, like a dank honey lemon, with an earthy grounding and floral/lavender touches which are picked up in the dry pull—but can’t be ignored once learned. The flavor starts with a mix of floral, herbal and earthy, really coating and dominating the mouth finishing with a low key sweet citrus and surprising cardamom spice. Very unique, delicious with layers of flavors and aromas which at times are hard to hold down.
The bud is a heavy hitter and took me the good part of 90 minutes to finish. I took at least two naps while smoking that one bud I had earlier doubted would suffice. Suffice to say, it sufficed. The initial effects are of wonder for the bud and flavor itself, excitement, eagerness and a creative energy. But as already mentioned above, that fades fast as the body goes deep into a full on deep relaxation to the point of just giving in to sleep. I didn’t “pass out”, I voluntarily put my head back on my chair and slept until I needed another puff. In fact I moved around my apartment from balcony, to sofa and finally to bed, enjoying a great rest and deep slumber finally in bed.
I highly recommend Ice Bath to experienced consumers. The flavors and aromas are novel and like nothing I have come across—both in the clarity of essence as well as the strength and diversity of the tastes and smells. The high is full on and only appropriate for those experienced consumers ready to vegetate. I would think twice (or three times) before letting a novice consumer take a puff of this one. The next time I smoke Ice Bath—it will be in a much smaller mini joint.

ICE BATH (Bubble Bath x Gelato 41, an Indica leaning Hybrid) is the second of ten flowers from Chiang Mai based White Labs that I have picked up to review and I have to say, I went into this one with pretty high hopes. It seems this flower has been taking the country by storm, appearing in the hands of prolific stoners across social media and in stores from Chiang Mai to Phuket, stocked in prominent BKK spots as well as most recently in the new Drewissharing, Phuket dispensary.
So, the real question. Is this flower worth the hype?
VISUALS:
ICE BATH certainly looks the part. A ferociously vibrant flower; deep hues of green and purple muddle and merge around thick clusters of bushy orange pistils. Breaking a nug reveals geode-like trichome structures and further splashes of deep purple and an additional smattering of pink. Something has to be said about how strikingly beautiful each White Labs flower is, but this one has to be up there around the top of the leader board.
NOSE:
The bag smell is gorgeous – it’s heavy on the gas and candy, composed of a sherbert-like cream, fuel and burnt rubber notes with a faint peppery spice. The nug break releases more of the cream, gas and pepper whilst revealing a splash of lime and, upon the grind, the Gelato 41 lineage really churns to life emitting full on sweet, thick and creamy gas. The candied vibe continues and is elevated by hints of lavender, menthol and the slightest whiff of pine making for a truly more-ish scent profile that is sure to be a hit in the 2025 market.
FLAVOUR:
The dry-toke on ICE BATH reveals further Gelato traits; the creaminess of the nose translates directly to the palate alongside the gas and menthol. Candy, vanilla and faint but fruity berry and citrus notes compliment the cream and further contribute to the dessert leaning profile.
And again, (as hoped) the traits of the Gelato shine through as soon as the flower is lit; cream and vanilla upfront with a splash of lime. The back-end is made up of a creamy, candied gas with the hints of pine, lavender and menthol just creeping through enough to add further depth to the already rich dynamic. It’s incredibly floral and would be reminiscent of sherbert strains if it weren’t for the level of cream.
The terps on this one are LOUD, with flavour fully coating the mouth and lasting down to the final toke, making it an absolute joy to consume.
HIGH:
The high is smooth and nicely lubricating – relaxing the mind and body, whilst retaining social and physical function. It’s incredibly comfortable yielding a “weed blanket” and a heavy dose of munchies. The lucidity of the high encourages creativity and conversations are giggly whilst feeling covert, which makes this a potentially great social flower for experienced smokers, suitable for summer get togethers and parties.
ASH:
The ash on ICE BATH is coming clean! The flower is combusting fully and produces clean, white ash, yielding maximum flavour. The bud burns even and smooth without any issues staying lit. A definite step above the Blue Dream.
VERDICT:
A full flavoured heavy hitter that I can see easily stealing the top spot of the recent White Labs releases. Unreal levels terp with a look, high and ash to match – an all round winner for fans of gassy gelato strains and a must try for White Labs fans.
